There are several hotels around Heathrow with elevated views of airport activity, providing varying opportunities for spotting and photography. For serious photography, booking a room at the Premier Inn near Terminal 4 is the best of these as the view is northwards with the sun behind. A new option for viewing aircraft at Heathrow opened at the end of August and was the brainchild of aviation enthusiast Mohammed Zulqarnain Butt who approached the Novotel London Heathrow Airport T1 T2 and T3 with the idea of creating a viewing gallery. The hotel is located on the A4 Bath Road, on the northside of the airport and while there are some rooms with views of the airport the best spot is the enclosed viewing gallery as it is on the top floor.
