Rovos Air Convair Metropolitan Crash

The South African Civil Aviation Authority’s (SACAA) Accident and Incident Investigations Division (AIID) has determined that failures to comply with SACAA regulations were contributing factors in the loss of a Rovos Air Convair CV-340 Metropolitan close to Wonderboom National Airport, Pretoria on July 10, 2018.

On the date of the flight, the aircraft owners had completed the sale of the aircraft, ZS-BRV (c/n 215) to Luchtvaartmuseum Aviodrome, an aviation museum at Lelystad Airport, the Netherlands. As part of the contract, the aircraft owners had prepared the aircraft for a ferry flight to Europe.
