Royal Thai Navy Do 228s to be upgraded

Seven Royal Thai Navy Do228 maritime patrol aircraft currently operated by 101 Squadron at U-Tapao will receive a US-designed upgrade package with new radar, electrooptical/ infrared sensor, mission systems and communications suite, including a datalink. The components of the upgrade package will be determined by US Naval Air Systems Command under the Defense Security Cooperation Agency’s Directorate of Building Partner Capacity programme, which seeks to accomplish national security objectives.
