The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) – a subsidiary of Russia’s state-owned Rostec State Corporation – has delivered another deeply modernised Il-76MD-90A Candid heavy-lift strategic transport to the Russian Ministry of Defence (MOD).

The successful delivery of this latest Il-76MD-90A (serial unknown) was announced by Rostec on October 18, with the corporation adding that a team from the Ulyanovsk aircraft manufacturing enterprise of PJSC II Aviastar – a subsidiary of the UAC – had manufactured and handed over the aircraft to the Russian MOD ahead of its upcoming transfer to the Russian Aerospace Forces (RuAF). The modernised strategic transport is one of several Il-76MD-90As to be delivered to the RuAF this year, though it remains unclear as to which squadron this latest aircraft will be operated by.
A deeply modernised version of the Il-76MD, the Il-76MD-90A is made from domestically developed parts and will be used to transport equipment, personnel and cargo in support of various Russian military operations across the globe.
