Russian military helicopter deliveries

Russian Helicopters reported that 72 new helicopters were delivered to the Russian Ministry of Defence in 2017. The number includes as many as 14 Ka-52s and eight Mi- 28UB attack helicopters, one Mi- 26 heavy lift transport, ten Ansats for training and no fewer than 39 Mi-8MTV-5s and Mi-8AMTShs for tactical transport duties. In addition, five more new Mi-8MTV-5s were delivered to the Kazan-based KOMZ company for conversion to Mi-8SMTPR1 standard fitted with the Rychag-AV electronic warfare system, designed to protect against air defence systems.

The Russian Ministry of Defence also took delivery of some 70 overhauled and upgraded helicopters, including ten Ka-27Ms for the Russian Naval Aviation service. According to Russian Helicopters, the Russian military expects to receive 60 new helicopters in 2018, including more Mi-8AMTShs and Mi-8MTV-5s. Alexander Mladenov
