Ryanair reveals London winter schedule

The new connections come as the airline announced it reached a post-pandemic traffic high in August   

Ryanair has announced 14 new winter routes from its three London bases with services set to begin in October.  

The routes include those from Stansted to Helsinki, Stockholm and Treviso, Luton to Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Naples and Gatwick to Malaga, among others and are made possible by easing travel restrictions across Europe.

Michael O’Leary, Ryanair’s CEO, said: “Ryanair is committed to re-building London’s tourism industry, jobs and connectivity as we grow across Europe and recover air travel to pre-Covid levels. As Ryanair takes delivery of 55 Boeing 737-8200 ‘Gamechanger’ aircraft this Winter, we are delighted to announce these new routes. We will also create over 500 new jobs for pilots, cabin crew and engineers this winter at our London airports as we gear up for more fleet and route growth in S2022.” 

Ryanair has also revealed its passenger traffic figures for August, showing 11.1m passengers travelled with the airline across 71,000 flights resulting in an average load factor of 82%. 

It is the first time since the pandemic began that the low-cost airline has seen traffic figures rise above 10m for a single month and is an increase of 1.8m passengers from its July traffic figures of 9.3m guests.
