Saudi Arabian National Guard orders additional UH-60Ms

Sikorsky has been awarded a US$99.89m contract modification to produce and deliver 25 additional modified UH-60M Black Hawk utility helicopters to the Saudi Arabian National Guard.

The modification – which was made to a previously awarded contract – was awarded to the US-based helicopter manufacturing giant by the US Army Contracting Command on March 24. The 25 new-build rotorcraft are being acquired using 2021 Foreign Military Sales (FMS) funds, with the contract having an estimated completion date of October 31, 2024.

In total, 24 UH-60Ms have been previously ordered by the country – in three batches of eight – for use by the Saudi Arabian National Guard. Originally, Saudi Arabia sought to procure 72 examples of the platform for its National Guard, but it is still unclear whether this remains the country’s eventual requirement.
