Scotland’s First Glamping Plane

Final Call

The tiny Stirlingshire village of Thornhill is set to become the home of Scotland’s first aeroplane glamping experience. The owners of Mains Farm have acquired the former Coventry-based Classic Air Force’s Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer, G-APRS, and plan to transform the high-winged plane into a one-of-a-kind holiday home. Two years ago, the owners put Thornhill on the map by converting a former Royal Navy Sea King helicopter into glamping accommodation which later featured on Channel 4’s Amazing Spaces. They will now convert the Twin Pioneer in a similar fashion and it will join the Sea King for next summer’s holiday season.
