Sent to the Falklands

For the first time, a Royal Air Force A400M Atlas C1 (serial number ZM415), has been assigned to the Falkland Islands to replace Hercules C5 ZH888 that has provided 905 Expeditionary Air Wing’s 1312 Flight based at Mount Pleasant with an SAR, maritime reconnaissance and tactical transport capability. The short-fuselage Hercules C5s are shortly to be withdrawn from RAF service. The new aircraft arrived in the Falklands in late March.
