Seven Up for Emirates

Emirates’ meteoric growth continues with the airline launching another new route to the UK. Andy Martin reports from London Stansted.

EMIRATES HAS launched a daily service from Dubai International to London Stansted (STN). It is the carrier’s third London link, complementing the longstanding connections to Heathrow and Gatwick, and its seventh to the UK. An eighth comes online when Edinburgh launches in October. As the first flight arrived to a traditional water canon salute on June 8, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president Commercial Operations West, Hubert Frach, explained the rationale of the development to an expectant audience of dignitaries and guests.
