Singapore Airshow debrief: Must knows from the show

 

In a welcome return to face-to-face events in the region, the 2022 Singapore Airshow was held at the Changi Exhibition Centre between February 15 and 18. Although somewhat quieter than the 2020 event – a show also affected by early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic – organisers estimate that almost 600 companies were represented at the 2022 gathering, including 70% of the top 20 global aviation corporations.

Notable exceptions to the firms displaying their wares were Gulfstream Aerospace and Bombardier, with only Dassault, HondaJet and Piaggio flying the business aviation flag.

Translated into actual attendees, around 39,000 trade visitors from 60 countries were at the event – down on previous years but still a significant turnout in a part of the world still in the grips of tight coronavirus travel restrictions.
