Singapore starts inducting H225Ms into operational service

The H225M is being inducted into the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) to replace the Super Puma. Roy Choo visits Sembawang Air Base to find out more about its capabilities

The RSAF Helicopter Group has begun introducing its new medium-lift helicopter, the Airbus Helicopters H225M. As of July 2022, nine have been delivered from the production facility in Marignane near Marseille in France – three in March 2021 and two each in January, May and July this year. Deliveries will continue into 2023.

Singapore’s order for the H225M Caracal was announced in November 2016. Although no disclosure has been made on the total number, it is widely understood to be 16 helicopters. These will go towards replacing the AS332M/M1 Super Puma, which first entered service in the 1980s.
