AIRBUS HAS announced agreements with AirAsia, Asiana Airlines and Etihad Airways for its Skywise open data platform. All 250 AirAsia Group A320 family aircraft and Asiana and Etihad A330s will be retrofitted with predictive maintenance solutions, and the 470 future Airbus deliveries to AirAsia will also feature the system.

Skywise uses Rockwell Collins’ FOMAX onboard data capture/ transmission module and advanced analytics applications to give airlines deeper insights into aircraft health management and enable more accurate planning of maintenance tasks. The three airlines will also have access to Skywise Core, a cloud-based platform enabling the integration of in-house operational, maintenance and aircraft data into the Skywise cloud so they can store, access, manage and analyse data without the need for additional infrastructure.

The three airlines join Bangkok Airways, easyJet, Emirates, LATAM, Peach and WOW Air as Skywise customers. Airbus launched Skywise in collaboration with Palantir Technologies at last year’s Paris Air Show.
