Vigna di Valle collection remodelled to mark 100th anniversary year

On 16 June, the Italian Air Force Museum at Vigna di Valle, on the shores of Lake Bracciano 20 miles north-west of Rome, reopened to the public following 18 months of rebuilding work which has seen the exhibition areas expanded by 30 per cent. The museum now has a total of 172,222 sq ft of exhibition space, consolidating its position among the most important aeronautical museums in the world. The reopening coincided with the Italian Air Force centenary celebrations, with a major airshow being held at Pratica di Mare over the weekend of 16-18 June.
