The new services are planned to start in May, with the introduction of the airport’s first nonstop flight to Los Angeles
US low-cost carrier, Spirit Airlines has announced its plans to add Louisville/Muhammed Ali International Airport (SDF) to its growing route map with the introduction of nonstop daily services to four cities.
The new service is set to begin on May 27 and will include flights to Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Orlando (MCO), Las Vegas (LAS) and Los Angeles – SDF’s only nonstop flight to this destination.
"Spirit is a great addition for the Louisville community and travellers across the region with their robust network and competitive fares,” said Dan Mann, executive director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. “Spirit's mission is 'more go' and we're accomplishing that with today's announcement - more options for more travellers to visit more destinations across the country and around the world. We welcome Spirit to SDF and look forward to a vibrant future."
As demand for air travel increases, the airline has continued to grow. Earlier this month, the carrier revealed an accelerated delivery schedule of the new Airbus’ which are joining the airline’s fleet – which is one of the youngest in the industry.
