We travelled to Goodwood Aerodrome to check out the only Spitfire simulator in the world used for training real-world Spitfire pilots
Formerly known as Boultbee Flight Academy, Spitfires.com was formed in 2010 as the world's first Spitfire training school and CAA-approved Spitfire flight provider. As well as operating a fleet of single and two-seat Spitfires, it also runs the only Spitfire simulator in the world used for training real-world Spitfire pilots.
Today, the company operates, manages and maintains two dual-seat Spitfire Tr.9s and a pair of single-seat Spitfire Mk.IXs along with a North American Texan T-6G and a de Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk. As well as providing flight training, they also offer flight experiences in the two dual-seat Spitfires and 'fly alongside' experiences for friends or family members of Spitfire guests.
