Spitfire Touches Down in Microsoft Flight Simulator

FlyingIron Simulations has announced the Spitfire L.F Mk IXc is now available for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The Spitfire package includes the Spitfire Mk IXc and the unique clipped wing variant of the airframe, significantly improving roll rate and speed.

It comes with a 3D cockpit model built from Heritage Flight Simulations' highly detailed CAD model, so the model is a perfect replica of the Spitfire Mk IX cockpit, down to the smallest detail. This is backed up by ultra-high artwork standards across the entire aircraft.

All sounds have been professionally recorded from a real Spitfire Mk IX by Wwise (the industry leader in game audio-engineering). FlyingIron has out obtained an exhaustive and professionally recorded Spitfire sound pack.

Additionally, the flight model is designed from the ground up based on the updated tools in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Other highlights include authentic systems; you will need to start-up, operate and fly the aircraft just as a real Spitfire. Custom failures enforce this realism – exceeding operating limits or incorrectly operating the aircraft will result in appropriate failures.
