Still Going Strong - Special Mission Aircraft

In addition to the Stratotanker’s core role as an in-flight refuelling aircraft, US Air Force C-135 Stratolifters have been modified for numerous specialized roles including weather reconnaissance, electronic intelligence and as aerial command posts to meet a variety of special mission roles. Operated by Air Combat Command’s (ACC’s) 55th Wing at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, the fleet currently includes the OC-135B, RC-135S/U/V/W, TC-135W and WC-135C/W models.
