Assuming the position with immediate effect, Frank Mena will take over the LATAM markets from Jose Canales
The current head of the North American division of Swissport, Frank Mena has assumed responsibility for Latin America, taking on the new role of head of the Americas effective immediately.
He will take over operations from the previous head, Jose Canales who is stepping down from the company.
The new head of the LATAM markets has spent his entire 43-year career working within the aviation industry. In 1991, he joined Swissport as the general manager, and has since worked within other managerial roles including, chief operations officer of US ground handling and chief commercial officer of the Americas.
“As head of Swissport in North America, Frank has proven his ability to professionally lead our organization in the US and Canada and guide the company through the COVID-19 crisis. Together with his team he will support our customers to quickly emerge from the crisis. We thank Jose for driving the operational and commercial development of our organisation in Latin America during the last seven years,” said Christoph Mueller, president and CEO of Swissport International AGl.
Leading the organisation in the US and Canada since October 2019, Mena has been responsible for the full-service portfolio which incorporates the ground services, air cargo handling and fuelling.
Frank will report to Christoph Mueller.
