The Combat Aircraft team details the US Air Force’s T-X competition to replace the T-38 Talon in the Undergraduate Pilot Training program
T-X will ultimately replace the USAF’s T-38C Talon fleet.

THE USAF LAUNCHED its T-X trainer competition on December 30, 2016, when it released its formal request for proposals (RFP) for the Advanced Pilot Training (APT) requirement. The new trainer will ultimately replace the service’s fleet of T-38C Talons that are used in the Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training (SUPT) phases.
