The Royal Canadian Air Force’s 126 Wing proved itself to be one of the most efficient airfighting entities in history. It was the highest-scoring fighter wing in the RAF’s Second Tactical Air Force (2 TAF), and from D-Day to VE Day, roughly 11 months, it would claim an astounding 333 enemy aircraft shot down.
