Welcome to the very first Airliner World Powerlist. As the world’s largest-selling commercial aviation magazine, we thought it was high time to recognise the operators we think will be high-flyers in the year ahead.
Our editorial team has carefully considered dozens of contenders from across the globe, before settling on this curated collection of commendable carriers.
To reach our top ten, we analysed a host of different metrics – from fleets to financials and sustainability to customer service. By definition of a top-ten chart, we are unable to include every noteworthy airline, but an omission from our Powerlist does not mean we have overlooked the remarkable efforts that are often underway. We know that behind the scenes, as well as in passenger-facing roles, incredibly hard work continues at all levels, as the industry aligns itself on the runway to recovery.
