Those Magnificent Miles Flying Machines

MILES BOXKITE REPLICAS

When three Bristol Boxkite replicas were needed at short notice for the filming of Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines, asking George Miles in a Christmas card turned out to be the ideal answer. One, of course, still flies with the Shuttleworth Collection — but what of the other two?

A sight familiar to visitors to Shuttleworth Collection events 55 years after the release of ‘Mag Men’. The Boxkite wore race number 7 for the film.
