Thrustmaster's F/A-18C Hornet

An innovative HOTAS joystick add-on

The highly respected Thrustmaster brand has long been associated with both quality and innovation within the flight simulation industry. So every time the company announces the release of a new product, it is met with great anticipation. In this case it is the launch of a new addition to its joystick range: The F/A-18C Hornet™ HOTAS Add- On Grip.

A clue to this product’s innovative design is in the word ‘add-on’ in its title. For this is not a typical standalone unit but a new detachable handle designed for Thrustmaster’s existing HOTAS Cougar and Warthog bases. So you’ll need one of those devices in order to use this stick; akin to needing a ‘host’ flight simulation, such as FSX, Prepar3D or X-Plane, in order to run the associated software addons. As far as I’m aware, this innovative modular concept is a hardware-first within the consumer side of flight simulation.
