Europe’s Organisation Conjointe de Co-opération en Matière d’Armament (OCCAR – Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation) has commissioned Airbus Helicopters to perform de-risking studies for the proposed Tiger Mk3 variant of the European attack helicopter.
The announcement was made on September 27, 2018, and the work will be undertaken on behalf of the French Direction générale de l’armement, German Bundesamt für Ausrüstung, Informationstechnik und Nutzung der Bundeswehr and Spanish Dirección General de Armamento y Material agencies.
Airbus Helicopters will prepare the development and retrofit phases of the next generation of avionics, mission and weapons system proposed for the helicopter, in conjunction with Thales and MBDA.
