The Stow, Massachusetts-based Collings Foundation’s latest recruit, in the shape of Curtiss TP-40N 42-104721/N293FR, joined the Wings of Freedom Tour at Denison, Texas on 19 March, and will now be available for rides along with the Collings B-17G, B-24, TP-51 and B-25.

The fighter-trainer, which is based on the wreck of a P-40K that was recovered from Alaska, made its first flight at Chino at the end of December following reconstruction as a factory-built TP-40N trainer, with a full set of controls in the rear cockpit.

During April the tour heads into Arizona and California, working its way back across the USA to finish up at Cape May, New Jersey at the end of August.
