Tudor Leeds to a World of Air Freight

In the Spotlight

Air cargo accounts for 35% of global trade and transit time is critical for many items. Freight boss Adam Johnson shows Tony Mallett how his Yorkshire-based company, Tudor International Freight, is meeting customer demands.

Adam Johnson has been with the company since 2012. In 2017, he received the Young Freight Forwarder of the Year Award at that year’s Global Freight Awards.

While thousands of cargo aircraft operate daily, the average passenger is likely unaware of the vast array of goods which could be stowed in the cargo hold below their feet. More than $6 trillion worth of air freight (weighing 52 million metric tonnes) was transported globally in 2018, accounting for 35% of global trade. Every day 100,000 planes transport items – ranging from 1.1 million smartphones, 200 racehorses and 898 million letters to 20 million parcels and 80,000 flowers – along 60,000 sky routes.
