Leg 3 – Manchester to Inverness
Welcome to the third and penultimate leg of our United Kingdom discovery tour, departing from City Airport in Manchester and finishing up at Inverness, the capital of the Scottish Highlands. During the 440-mile trip, we will overfly several incredibly picturesque mountainous areas, with the high-resolution digital elevation mesh included in Asobo’s World Update 3 for Microsoft Flight Simulator generating some stunning visuals and our planned route designed to show these off at their very best.

Once again, we recommend setting a custom weather theme for the most atmospheric results, with a scattered cloud layer around 5,000ft, ‘aerosol’ density set to 3 (found in the Weather and Time section) and light surface winds allowing you to land in any direction at the airports en route. Low and slow is key to enjoying the scenery and we recommend flying the likes of a Cessna 152 or C172, cruising at around 110 knots, giving you a total flight time of just over four hours.
