UK MOD issues RFI for New Medium Helicopter programme

A much-anticipated Request for Information (RFI) was issued by the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) on May 18 for the New Medium Helicopter (NMH) contract to supply up to 44 NMHs to replace existing rotorcraft systems for Army and Strategic Commands.

AW149
The AW149 is just one of the contenders for the UK's NMH requirement Leonardo

The type planned for replacement is primarily the Royal Air Force Puma HC2, but the new helicopters will also supplant the RAF’s Griffin HAR2s, Army Air Corps Bell 212s in Brunei and the AAC AS365N3 Dauphins operated in support of UK Special Forces. The purpose of the Contract Notice is to invite potential and interested suppliers to formally express interest in participating in this procurement. Deadline for response is June 20, 2022.
