Ukrainian pilots begin F-16 training in Denmark as Norwegian 'Vipers' arrive

The Royal Danish Air Force (RDAF) has been training Ukrainian Air Force (UkrAF) pilots to fly the F-16 Fighting Falcon at Skrydstrup Air Base since late December 2023, when the first six candidates arriving after completing a basic training course in the UK.

These already seasoned UkrAF fighter pilots underwent training on aviation-specific English language and all other necessary procedures to enable them to effectively begin their F-16 pilot training according to Western standards. On January 3, the Norwegian Ministry of Defence (MOD) revealed that it will provide two F-16BM (MLU) fighter-trainers and ten instructors from the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF) to support the training of UkrAF personnel that is already underway in Denmark.
