US blocks transfer of F-35As to Turkey

US PRESIDENT Donald Trump signed a bill on February 15 preventing transfer of F-35A fighters to Turkey. The spending bill prohibits delivery of Lightning IIs onto Turkish territory until the US secretaries of state and defence provide an update on Ankara’s planned buy of S-400 surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems from Russia. The new study is due before November 1 and will also detail plans for sanctions should Turkey go ahead with the S-400 deal.
