USAF releases T-38C crash report

Attrition Report

A USAF T-38C from the 25th FTS taxies in at Vance AFB after a training flight on February 1 last year. Another of the squadron’s T-38Cs, 68-8206, was lost on August 17, 2018. The newly released accident investigation report found that a bird strike was the cause of the crash.

AN ACCIDENT Investigation Board report into the loss of a US Air Force T-38C Talon last August 17 (see Attrition, October 2018, p92) was released by the service’s Headquarters Air Education and Training Command (AETC) on April 20. It identifies the aircraft as 68-8206 ‘VN’ from the 71st Flying Training Wing’s 25th Flying Training Squadron (FTS) at Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma.
