USAF sets up new logistics units for high-intensity warfare

 

Arguably, the biggest innovation in the world’s leading air force isn’t technological, it’s organizational. The US Air Force (USAF) is setting up new logistics units that are optimized specifically for high-intensity warfare. These ‘air base squadrons’ would pack up engineering and refueling gear, and other support equipment, then deploy to austere airfields to prepare for fighters, bombers and drones to arrive – and they’d do it fast.
