The annual Victory Show brings military vehicles, re-enactments and breathtaking air displays to the small village of Cosby in Leicestershire. Jamie Ewan reports

Held over the first weekend of September, the Victory Show at Cosby presented a small but scintillating flying display headlined by several aircraft from Ultimate Warbird Flights, the group operated by Air Leasing of Sywell,

Northamptonshire. The event is also justly famous for its land battle re-enactments, usually enhanced by pyrotechnics, and vast numbers of vintage and military vehicles.

Flying in were Republic P-47D Thunderbolt Nellie, Hawker Hurricane Mk.I P2902, North American TF-51D Mustang Contrary Mary, Supermarine Spitfires Mk.Vc EE602 and Tr.IX ML407, plus Hispano HA-1112-M1L Buchón White 9, which were all based on the Cosby farm strip for the weekend. An additional Buchón, Yellow 7, also participated, operating from Sywell.
