“Vueling’s plans to launch a direct route to Barcelona from Belfast City Airport will be welcome news for many, giving passengers more choice for the summer,” said Ellie McGimpsey, aviation development manager at Belfast City Airport.

“The convenient flight times and twice-weekly service on Mondays and Fridays make it an ideal choice for a relaxing weekend break, sunshine getaway, or trip to the beach with the family. We are looking forward to seeing Vueling’s passengers and staff at the airport this summer.”

A variety of destinations are currently available to fly to from the Northern Irish capital, including other UK locations with Aer Lingus, regular scheduled journeys to Heathrow via British Airways and a London City route with BA CityFlyer.

The new service to the Spanish coast will be operated by an Airbus A320.
