Water Evacuation Trainer for Singapore

Spatial, one of the world’s leading providers of cabin crew training simulators, is to manufacture an aircraft water evacuation device for Singapore Airlines.

The UAE-based firm will provide the Southeast Asian carrier with a system to train staff in door operation, cabin communications and aircraft systems familiarisation.

Based on a Boeing 787 fuselage, the device will feature replica Airbus A350 and A380 doors as well as refurbished Boeing 737 and 777 exits. It is to enable instruction on secure cockpit procedures, emergency equipment usage, fire and smoke training and evacuation directly into an adjacent pool.

Marc Van den Broucque, managing director at Spatial, said: “We’re thrilled to be building such a sophisticated, state-of-the-art water evacuation device for one of the world’s leading airlines.

Singapore Airlines is synonymous with quality, service, comfort and safety and we can’t wait to deliver this device to their world-class training facility.”

Spatial has also manufactured similar units for Etihad Airways and Oman Air, based on the A350 and 737.
