Wizz Adds Southend Services

London Southend Airport is soon to be connected to several new destinations in Eastern Europe, thanks to Wizz Air which is also expanding its services from Stansted and Edinburgh. A maiden flight to Sibiu, Romania is due to depart on October 30, while routes to Bucharest and Vilnius are set to start on November 22 and 23 respectively, increasing the Hungarian carrier’s presence in the UK to 12 airports. Alongside the Southend launch, the airline is to offer links from Luton to Castellón, Spain and the Austrian capital Vienna.

From the beginning of November, Wizz Air will also connect Edinburgh Airport with the Polish cities of Warsaw and Gdańsk as well as Budapest in Hungary and Bucharest in Romania. The Warsaw service begins on the first of the month, with all other connections starting the following day. One of Europe’s fastest growing airlines, Wizz Air and its subsidiaries in Bulgaria, Ukraine and the UK field a combined fleet of 118 aircraft. It currently holds a market share in excess of 40% at London Luton Airport.
