Wizz Air selects L3Harris Technologies for multi-year pilot training agreement

The training services will support the airline’s Airbus A320 and A320neo-family fleet

On June 15, Wizz Air announced that it had selected L3Harris for a multi-year agreement to provide training services, including the provision of A320 and A330 full flight simulators and fixed panel trainer hours.

The European carrier and L3Harris have worked together since 2015, and the new agreement extends the current airline services agreement secured back in 2018. Training will be carried out at the advanced facilities of L3Harris’ London Training Centre.

The announcement comes as the airline prepares for a significant increase in flights when international travel restrictions are expected to ease this summer. The operator’s network covers more than 80 destinations from 11 UK airports, including three quarantine-free countries on the government’s green list.

“We look forward to continuing to bring our expertise in pilot training to Wizz Air,” said Alan Crawford, President of L3Harris Commercial Aviation. “As the industry recovers, this agreement shines the light on our simulator training and renowned instructors and examiners who support unique airline growth strategies such as Wizz Air’s.”

András Sebők, Chief Central Operations Officer at Wizz Air, added: “We are appreciative of all the support and flexibility L3Harris has given us, especially over the last 12 months. We are optimistic about the recovery of the industry, and are excited to have L3Harris’ world class products and training services support us during this time and beyond.”
