Touring Central Europe
The announcement of a new version of Flight Simulator to be released in 2024 certainly created a stir in the flight sim community but I’m pleased to see it didn’t postpone the promised release of the next World Update, which covers Central Europe. The six countries it features include the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovenia and Croatia which, combined, cover a massive area of 350,000 square kilometres. Incidentally, all of these countries were once part of the Roman Empire and still contain many impressive ruins dating back to that period. Unfortunately, I’ve never ventured further east than the Greek Islands, so I was genuinely looking forward to exploring this part of the world.
So, here we are with World Update XIV and it’s something of a mixed bag containing areas that are quite diverse, from glorious sunny beaches to areas deep with forestation and on to magnificent mountains, which of course provides pilots with a variety that makes each flight that little bit more interesting. So, let’s climb aboard!
