Xian H-6N: China's Carrier-Killing Bomber

In October 2020, a short video surfaced on social media showing a Chinese Xian H-6N bomber carrying what appeared to be a new air-launched ballistic missile (ALBM) below its belly. It was reportedly the first time the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) bomber had been spotted carrying the weapon.

The H-6N is the latest variant of the Xian H-6. It’s a version of the Soviet Tupolev Tu-16 twin-engined bomber built under licence for the China’s People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). Ryan Dorling
