A thread that I hope will act as a reference source for anyone who cares to use it.

The previous thread compiled a list of British post-war commercial aircraft excluding single-engined and rotary-wing types.

A couple more for you:

Short Solent 4
ZK-AMO “Aranui”,
Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT) Auckland, New Zealand.

Short Solent 3 (Formerly Sunderland IV/Seaford I NJ203)
N9946F, previously G-AKNP “City of Cardiff”; VH-TOB;
Oakland Aviation Museum, San Francisco, USA

Short Sandringham 7 (formerly Sunderland III & V JM719)
F-OBIP, previously G-AKCO, "St George"; VH-APG "Frigate Bird III"
Musee de l'Air, Le Bourget, Paris, France

Short Sunderland V
N814ML “Islander”, previously ML814, NZ4108; VH-BRF; N158J; G-BJHS;
Fantasy of Flight, Florida, USA
This a an airline conversion of the Short Sunderland, carried out by Ansett Airlines. Since it was not an official Short Brothers conversion and does not have the full Sandringham nose it is better to be considered a Civil Sunderland. Not sure how it fits your list.

Thanks to replies

T.O. - have put XX492 in the list although not sure about the wisdom of including all military Jetstreams, same for DH Dominies. Perhaps just those in Museums???

Keith - added Cosford's York.

Jon - is that the van Nuys Prince N???? I seem to recall it moved elsewhere in California a while back, have added but will have to search that one.

Pondskater - your list of Short 'boats added. I reckon the Fantasy of Flight Sunderland is fair game like Cosford's York.

The Navy Jetstreams were a civil aircrfat modified and some had previous civil registration.

The Dominie was a special version of the 125 only built for the RAF and had a different fuselage unlike any civil version.

Isn't there a flying Heron based in Jersey - can't think of the registration but I am sure I drove past it on the airport road when I visited the island 3 or 4 years ago.

I think it came from the RAF Museum store and went to Singapore Airlines to restore as one of their first aircraft. It was probably G-AITB or G-AITF W&R shows one at Cardington and one at Henlow in the 80's.

Thanks for replies again folks - list updated.

Garry - I reckon thos Navy Jestreams would qualify as they were built as civil machines. 'PWJ c/n corrected and fueslage of 'OVS added

T.O. "post-war" to keep it manageable? but, saying that, there are actually so few pre-war types left so perhaps add them in later??

A84-232 thanks.

Mark thanks for those three (added) is that Moorabin??, any previous idents?

wcfcfan Wrecks & Relics lists XX105 complete and XX919 is only a nose - is that right?

WJ244 I should have got that one as it has been in my locality for a good while (with Air Atlantique), think it's G-AORG but I'm not sure of current status or location.

DavidS/WJ244 yep the ex RAFMuseum Consul VR-SCD at Singapore added. Is that it's true identity and was it G-AITB or 'TF??

richellis Trident 'WZK added

cometguy Dove 'REA added and RAFMuseum Comet regn corrected

LindysLad Jetsream and S.330 added

GFR yes. do you have any identities for it, current owner???

dailee yes Beagle 206 G-ARRM added - is it with Shoreham Aircraft Museum?(presume it's stil owned by Brooklands Museum) Have also added G-ASWJ -= shame on me for omitting that one when I was involved (a little bit) in getting it for MAM) :o

I think thats replied/thanked everyone. I'm still picking through Wrecks and Relics but

KEEP 'EM COMING
