Hmmm Mr Hubbard is not held in high regard on a Science Fiction forum I'm on. In fact that book is listed in a recent 'Worst ever SF book' thread there, with quite a few listing it.
I forced myself through all TEN of those goddamn books hoping for it to get better. It never did. I did like Battlefield Earth (the book) though. What SF forum are you referring to? I love SciFi. Currently reading, "A Fire Upon the Deep" by Vernor Vinge for the dozenth time or so.

Fire and Sword by Simon Scarrow. Since I started reading his Roman Legion stories I have come to enjoy his work and I had to try this one to see how well he stands up against Bernard Cornwell for the Peninsular Campaign and Wellington. Admittedly this book is just the lead up to the peninsular campaign but I think he is rushing through the years leading up to it to get there faster. This book finishes in 1809 so I guess he has the intention of following it.
