Long-time White Waltham resident Nanchang CJ-6 made a precautionary landing in bad weather beside the M40 on Wednesday, and ended firmly stuck in the mud. There was much confusion in the breathless report by the Bucks Free Press.

http://www.thisislocallondon.co.uk/news/4878090._Mystery__pilot_returns_to_salvage_plane_from_muddy_field/?ref=mr

The CJ was finally freed from the mud, and has been trailered to Seething, for restorative care.

It seems that it was left unattended overnight, and surprise, surprise, the local moron element made their way to it , to inflict damage ( extent unknown at present ) . Just last year, a Pilatus P2 force landed in Lincs and suffered even worse treatment

''VANDALS set fire to a rare plane hours after its pilot made an emergency landing in a wheat field.

The pilot and co-pilot, two Stamford men, were forced to land the Pilatus P2 Monoplane in a field beside Ropsley Road, Old Somerby, near Grantham, after developing engine trouble on Saturday evening.

The two men, aged 48 and 20, were rushed to hospital with minor injuries after making the emergency landing while en-route to Spanhoe Airfield from Waddington.

But hours later vandals managed to set fire to both wings along with smashing cockpit ... '' STAMFORD MERCURY.

A few years ago a Teal amphibian had played a small part in James Bond movie, and was painted up as a Police aeroplane. It force landed near Biggin Hill, was left unattended, and was later set on fire by some passing Hells Angels, who had certain issues with the Police.

It seems that to leave an aircraft at the mercy of vandals is an open invitation for destruction, and is something close to negligence. A security guard for £150 a night seems good value in the circumstances.

What's going on over there?
I discussed the P2 incident with pilot friends and they couldn't believe it.

Here, you might get some petty theft or souvineer hunting...but burning a plane?

Yeah, and they're probably on the dole, living off taxpayers' money.

Sounds more like The Wicker Man to me

Teal s/n 7, G-AXZN, appeared in the 1973 cult movie "The Wicker Man"! The film casted actors like; Edward Woodward, Christopher Lee and a nude Britt Ekland... The film starts with the Teal flying over beautiful Scottish scenery...

The scenery behind the air to air of the Teal was Plockton, Wester Ross.

Seen topless though. Body double was for the rear shots. Obviously concerned about her bum.

Slightly happier news is that the aeroplane was not materially damaged by the local toe-rags, though the mud over the aeroplane indicates they accessed the cockpit, and got the propellor to turn as well as setting the undercarriage to 'UP' - fortunately it was too well planted to respond.

The optomistic view is that it will be back online within a month, with a new engine and prop.

So people who have a job arent scum bags? I beg to differ.....

Many years ago at the Brisbane airport a group of "people" cut the airport perimeter fence and then spray painted a parked 747 frieghter on the southern end of the airport.

Several times over the past few years at Townsville airport people have jumped the fence at the adjoining RAAF base to "walk" to the terminal as a short cut.... some got as far as the active runway.

Brisbane airport is the same, with people jumping fences to "catch" planes cause they are late....

I dont consider them scum... just more examples of braindead morons who are becoming more and more frequent in todays ever wonderful uneducated society.

I'd rather have a look at the farmer who owns/leases the land ...
