Hi,

Just watching 'Top Gear' and wondered what the history was of the planes in the background on the airfield. So who better to ask than you guys.

Discuss.

I think the B747 in the background was once a BA plane, before going to European and then it was retired and used in Casino Royale.

Yes, i've seen it in that and 'Primeval'. I think there's a Dakota there too.

Oh yes, I forgot it was in Primevil too! Wasnt that the one with the T-rex?

I saw the Dakota on it this evening but I only caught a glimpse of it, maybe a second or so but I thought it might of been the BBMF Dakota - probably transiting through.

The Dakota is ZS-MRU, At Dunsfold ! has been there since 2006, was going on to someone in Iceland but paperwork got in the way ! She has panaromic windows as do the aircraft that fly most of the worlds beauty spots !
Google the Reg and photos will appear ???

I generally have to watch it keeping one eye on the car and one on the background to see if there's any new goodies parked in!
