Going to Reno for the air races in September. Great event that I highly recommend. Nothing like the sound of multiple Rolls Royce V-12'S ripping the blue skies of the desert wide open. The static displays are classic, some of the best you'll ever see. There's also one or two demonstration teams on hand. Rumor is Lt. Col Max Moga will bring a 90th FS Raptor down from Alaska.

What we have never had is a Typhoon, Rafale, or Grippen demonstration at Reno, or any where else in the States to my knowledge. I know, but the Raptor goes to Europe anyway. You guys pull some strings over there, we're allies, foster some good will, international relations etc..

c ya at the races

I visited Reno in 1998. Flew from San Francisco and boy did that 737 climb! First time I've had contrails off the wing tips and a feeling of being squished in my seat.

Show was great with some very colourful Furies.

I also did the CAF Airshow and remember being surprised by a Uk based Nimrod being on show.

Did Spitfire (greatest fighter name ever) and Hurricanes all have the RR v-12?

I was @ Reno 1998, my first race. The Furies are still colorful, and the 737 is still the sportscar of commercial aviation. My dad flew with the hero's of Col. Bud Day's Commando Sabre Misty's of Vietnam, they're being honored this year at the races. Gonna be a great event. How about a Tiffie over here?

My buddy is the FBO at Stead so I am there every year! Get down to the pits and right down to the north end of the pits and the aircraft are flying right at you as they leave the Valley of Speed. Simply awesome!
