-Words fail me....
Last year Linda Lusardi called 999 to ask for help out of a motorway jam as she was late for her Panto.....
I bet Ben has some words and thoughts on this !

It's that 2nd one.
Most people may be of reasonable intelligence and sensibilities, but some are, for want of a more diplomatic word, stupid.

-Nothing suprises me any more. People like this to be honest its all really sad.
I would love to see proper fines for such time wasting and also re-educating in why we have the Police,Fire brigade and Ambulance services and whats an emergency.

Just about sums it all up. Shame these cretins are allowed to pass on their stupid genes to a new generation...

-Yes, she's a thicko pikey chav alright.
However, discuss this: -
I doubt if 2% of the readers on here know the phone number of their local Police station. Not without finding the yellow pages etc.
So, the unready thicko's will dial the number that has been drummed into them. 999 or 911.
Why don't they have say 888 (Whatever) for Police non-emergencies? The technology is there to route your call to the nearest station.
This is a simple answer.
Therefore it is too difficult for a politician to understand.
Edit. After all, they chose 999 to prevent hoax calls from Starlings and other great feathered heads.

-hasn't something like 911 or 111 been trialled in a few regions but scrapped due to again a lack of funding by the government.

I believe 911 works on UK mobiles, and has done for some time.
111 was trialed in my area, but for anti social behavior issues in the town centres. Don't know if it's still going on.

Aren't they pretty much exactly the same thing anyway?
Either way, she's a muppet!

-Anyone want to buy a second hand snowman? It's unsual as it has teaspoons as arms. Any offers? You'll have to be quick though. It's shrinking!
By: 6th December 2010 at 12:55 Permalink - Edited 1st January 1970 at 01:00
-Perhaps the sun came out and it melted. She'll probably find her coins and spoons on the front lawn when the thaw comes. I mean, how the hell could you steal a snowman anyway, surely it's not possible? And for that matter, why would you?

-The Stolen Snowman
I expect she wanted the police to send a tracker dog, and to take plaster casts of the footprints, and take finger prints in the snow.
Surely this woman's 15 minutes of fame will be fulfilled when she ends up in the Darwin Awards.
If there was a snowman with teaspoons sticking out and £1 coins for eyes, the spoons and coins would have been taken, and the snowman crushed.
Maybe she should check e-bay daily to see if a snowman is listed for sale in the Kent area.
Maybe she has contacted The Samaritans and asked them to list "Frosty" as a missing person.
Stupidity has no bounds.

Muppet is not exactly the word I would have chosen for this moronic excuse for a human being.

I've always thought (perhaps wrongly) that all police stations follow New Scotland Yard. That no. is 7230-1212. So your local police station would be (STD code)-1212.
I rang directory enquiries to check this and some are 1212 but others are not.
Tony.

-Now your talking.
Whitehall 1212!!!
Scotland Yard Casebook, starring Edgar Lustgarten and a host of excellent aeroplanes like Viscounts, Clippers, Connies and Pistons all over the place. Flown from early LHR or maybe even Croydon??? They reversed the film to indicate flying back home! Even Viscounts were used for transatlantics!
They crammed a 3 hour film into 25 mins. I distinctly remember one episode where he flew to Jamaica on a Connie, checked in the hotel, came immediately downstairs (Still in Inspector black mac garb), goes to the bar and approaches the only man in the room. (Takes picture from pocket) "Have you seen this man?"....."Yes". Classic.
