Hi. I was there a few weeks ago, and I live about 60 miles from the S/Collection, I had the A1 road/ Motorway, so had a good fast trip.
There is so much to see, I.M.H.O. I would do an overnighter, and have a good or most of a good day at the collection. It's one that has a lot to see, and it would be a shame to have to rush through the collection .

P.S. Don't forget to take a camera, as there are a lot of exhibits you may wish to take photographs of.

Hi.
I think what you mean is could you go from London to The Shuttleworth Collection and then to Lancaster in a day?
Yes, if you get an early start.
The Collection opens at 10.00am and closes at 16.00hrs in Winter.
It will take you about 4 hours to get to Lancaster from Old Warden.
if you come on a Tuesday or Thursday (or weekend) say hello.
PM me if you want information.
Best.
Andy.

London is a big place so without interference from traffic it could take between and hour and two hours to get from there to Old Warden depending where in London you chose to stay. With traffic it could take much longer.

There is also the time of arrival at the airport, clearing Customs, collecting a hire car, and as Moggy rightly stated getting out of London, and I guess the M25 to consider. Quite a lot to cram in, in one day.

Many thanks !

I think I get the picture.

How about a day trip to Old Warden and back to London and a train to Lancaster the next day ? I have to see the Tate gallery too.

Juke...........

Sounds like a good plan !!! London (Euston) to Lancaster, two and a half hours on the train. Sit and enjoy a coffee, arrive relaxed !!! As others have said leave yourself plenty of time at OW.

Oh yes, you can go to OW by train. Kings Cross to Biggleswade, two trains an hour, less than one hour travelling time. You will need to take a taxi from Biggleswade station out to OW, not too far; about ten mins.

Moggs. Yes, I dropped one there, Thanks for putting me right;)
If he keeps changing his itinery, he may as well rent a flat for a few weeks, then he can visit all our A/Craft museums, and art galleries too.:diablo:

Northwood/London

I visited Northwood where my brother lived a year..and also visited London and Cambridge/Duxford and photographed the fighter collection there.

I was very surprised that the Dragon Rapide aeroplanes are still in regular use. What a fine ac that is.

1976 I visited the Farnborough air show when F-15 was a hot new aircraft. I had FAF ex-chief test pilot with us back then.
