-Laurie - It might well be the machine stored by the Wings of Eagles museum in New York . They were formerly called the National Warplane Museum.

-I think the Whirlwind in New York is G-BKHA/XJ763. G-BKHC/XP328 was/is with Lodge Road Flying Services at Tattershall Thorpe, Lincolnshire

-Thanks guys.
I believe that the Tattershall Thorpe site was pretty well cleared out some time ago and was wondering where HC went from there.
The Wings of Eagles site just mentions a stored Whirlwind without giving details so I have emailed and asked the identity.

-Circa 1989 I met a fellow who had a Whirlwind.
I saw it somewhere and he allowed me to sit in the PIC seat...not without some scalp blood shed caused by hitting something on entry.
IIRC, he was the head of a USAF base flying club.
I think the helicopter was soon damaged in a roll-over.
Anyone with any details? Was it BKHC?

It's a very poor quality photo but you can see the two Whirlwinds in this photo.

The fact they are in a scrappy may suggest a future, but of course isn't necessarily final....
Kind Regards

-Roger Windley has delt with all sorts of aircraft over the years as an insurance store and himself as an operator. The reason they still exist is that its a bit removed from being a traditional 'scrappy' !

Does anyone know if this helicopter is still extant?
I believe it was de-registered around 1989.
