You are very kind.

As neither of us has more than a tiny bit of formation flying training it was a 'gaggle' rather than a formation, deliberately so.

But still great fun.

Since our glider pilot landlords don't play on Tuesday we had the airfield to ourselves, so I could finish the day working on my run & break technique.

Love the CJ6 shots. I always think they look so much nicer than the Yak 52 (And this as an ex-Yak owner)

It's still good, even if it's not a proper formation flight.
I was so lucky to get a go of formation flying. My friend Tony Crowe phoned me one day in June 2010 and wanted a pilot to fly with him as he was going to be taking pics. I told him I had never done formation flying before and he said i'll learn as we go along.. :D We flew along side a Chipmunk and a Pitts Special. One of the best flights i've ever been on!
Always nice to have the airfield to yourself, Moggy! Nothing and no one else to worry about!

Near perfect in Norfolk too - Cromer Pier and Sheringham out to the West...

And then to a lower level to check out another vintagent. N Norfolk railway in steam (but why's the engine going backwards?).

My friend Tony Crowe ...

That's almost a banning offence here. Awful type ;)

Very atmospheric- is that a DH60 wing, or maybe the green Currie Wot ?

As to the loco, I got a similar shot when I was in my Hawker Tempest, shooting up train in northern France!

I'll have to keep you lot guessing for a bit... Here's a few more from the ropey old year for flying! Ah...de Havilland for me,of course.

A bit of formation work on the way to East Kirkby. Unfortunately I didn't notice that the flash was on. Keeping formation whilst wrestling with the iPhone ain't the best way of doing things (mind you it was a lovely, still, smooth day) :)

The return flight at FL50: N Norfolk coast looking East from the Wash (that 'hook' on the coast is Blakeney Point)

One of the best days this year - I was offered a go in another DH type of great rarity:

Last week, I captured more DH'ery - a lucky shot at my home airfield:

Finally, another of the bestest days of the year was a flight in this vintage machine. There are currently 4 airworthy...Sorry about the frightful shot, but it wasn't easy to get it!

The flying season started well for me...

Then ten minutes after the first picture was taken, the crankshaft snapped!

Been blagging rides ever since.....

The good news is the rebuilt engine went back in last week!
Now just re-assembling everything else we took apart in the field!

Congratulations on the landing - looks like a job well done.

Also glad to hear you are on the way back into the air.
