The official registrations for that country begin with T7-...
So, 20 years ago, the first plane (a Baroudeur-ULM) was registered T7-001.
A special postcard was published, then, to mark the event.

And recently I was surprised to discover that 2 aircraft of the
Italian aerobatic 'Pioneer Team' are also T7-.. registered !!

For the T7-MFB, see :
www.abpic.co.uk/photo/1009848

and for T7-MFC;
http://myaviation.net/?pid=01082594

Do you know other T7- ones :confused:

SAN MARINO (bis..)

the previous post was one of my first posts, when I was an Internet 'beginner' :)
Recently I've found more about my rare card of the Baroudeur registered T7-001 ;

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AIRPLANES-EXTRA-LIGHT-BAROUDEUR-MAXIMUM-CARD-/350428542704
& the value of it !!
(if you are not convinced, I can scan & send the backside of that card )

meanwhile there are many T7-registered aicraft, (see airliners.net >registrations > T7-.. > pp 2 & 3,
nevertheless I don't think there is an airport there !

Most probably NOT located in San Marino !! ( 'publicity' is NOT true !!! )

imagine San Marino's territory of just 61 sq km's, & 32.000 inhabitants...
& the version of wikipedia ;

There are no public airports in San Marino, but there is a small private airstrip located in Torraccia and an international heliport located in Borgo Maggiore. Most tourists who arrive by air land at Federico Fellini International Airport close to the city of Rimini, then make the transfer by bus.

Interesting to see this arise from obscurity.

You have aroused my interest now, I'll take a look at the airstrip there, I have a flight to Italy loosely planned for this year, Venice San Nicolo, but other options would be welcome.

've just found this -really short- Wikipedia explanation ;

San Marino T7 ;

T7-AAA to T7-ZZZ

T7-001 to T7-999 (Microlights)

and... to make 'Googeling' less easy ; there is also a 'San Marino' in...California !

A friend of mine once owned the Tiger Moth G-ANPK ,but i never did get the chance to fly her ,due to a forced landing on a sea wall, the aircraft was damaged,he kept it in a barn for a few years intending to rebuild her,but he sold her on for eventual rebuild.
A few more T7- in the microlight range
T7-001 Zenith Baroudeur
T7-002 Solar Wings
T7-012 Sky King Vector 627
T7-028 Ferrari Tucano
T7-036 Technam P.92 Echo
T7- ... Fly Castellucio

Seems that San Marino is a bit of haven for aircraft which for whatever reason are difficult to register elsewhere.

Perhaps San Marino is an EASA member which would then theoretically permit operation of a T7-registered aircraft in any other EASA member state?

Some Yak-52 seem to have taken up this registration when the RA-registrations were declared invalid. I've also seen a couple of L-39 and a microlight in Germany with T7-regs as well

Thanks, G-ANPK, for your replies..

for the T7-001 ' Baroudeur , see my card in post # 2 ,
and this is the (enlarged) view of the backside of it ;

by Googeling "Aeroclub San Marino", one can find many a/c pics, also this "mysterious' one :

see on the tail , the title "volo della pace" San Marino - Vaticano ! (happened in Sept 2012)

Definitely a 'flag of convenience'. My old Yak is now registered there as T7-XXX. It was RA3493K whilst the Germans accepted the Russian reg.

But surely if the Yak is permitted on a San Marino EASA registration then it should be able to have a German EASA registration. I thought all things were equal in 'EASA Land'. We have them on UK registrations.

Mine was RA02050 :)

Sorry not to still have the aircraft, not at all sorry not to have the fuel bills.

I know what you mean, or the oil bill......

We went through so many registrations in pursuit of the CAA's changing attitude to airworthiness that the paint on the rear fuselage started peeling off every time we unstuck and re-stuck a new number. Three in seven years. Hopefully San Marino will be more permanent for the current owners.

YES... there is a (only one) airfield in San Marino...

I'm surprised, also..:cool:

I'm not, San Marino is built on three hills so there's not much flat land to build an airfield on. In fact I'm surprised that they managed to find enough flat land for one.
